Thanks for pointing me to this Vaughan. It looks like we will be getting PACOTs and more in the next release.

Regards,
Tony

Ernie,
What is the progress on FSBuild 2.4? Is it possible to offer a patch to get PACOTs in 2.3 if it is not going to be available soon? Is 2.3.7.6.2 Build 239 still the current release of FSBuild?

Regards,
Tony

Hi Ernie

I just did a fresh install of FSBuild including my old 2.3 version and the upgraded to 2.4.0.8. I noticed that cfg file still reads the old url setting. Updating it yours as per this thread works but only because I knew where to look. Don't suppose in a future build you could please consider updating the cfg file to point to NATRAKURL=http://www.fsbuild.com/nat.html as I'm certain it will be a big help for new users.

Thanks as always for your continued work on this fantastic product.

Mark

Hi Ernie!

Once again on this topic, the dynamic NAT source is out of date. Checking with my browser I've got this:

http://www.fsbuild.com/nat.html returns NATs from 2010/02/24 - very outdated.

http://www.fsbuild.com/nat/www.notams.j ... n/nat.html (which is set as NATRAKURL in the [FSBUILD]-section of my fsbuild2.cfg file) returns NATS from 2011/05/28 - much better, but already outdated, too.

The DoD NAT source https://www.notams.jcs.mil/common/nat.html (was that the source from where you receive the data for your service?) is unreachable in the moment. (maybe since 2011/05/29 ...)

The FAA NAT source https://pilotweb.nas.faa.gov/common/nat.html returns actual data in the correct format, but when I try to set this as NATRAKURL in fsbuild2.cfg I get the following error in FSbuild: A connection with the server could not be established.

Please help. Eventually you have only to switch the source for the NAT service on the http://www.fsbuild.com server from https://www.notams.jcs.mil/common/nat.html to https://pilotweb.nas.faa.gov/common/nat.html .

Thanks a lot

Just change the path to www.natroutes.glideslope.de/html/nats.php3 which works fine and is current.

Sorry DJ....your suggested link is not working this morning.

Ernie, request you post an updated url change once completed.....we realize it's not your fault the URL keeps changing but we'd sure like to have the capability to download current NATS fixed.

Regards,
Tom

Tom - sorry about that; the link worked for me once and now doesn't work at all. The site appears to have gone off the air completely.

This is the current link.

NATRAKURL=www.fsbuild.com/nat/www.notams.jcs.mil/common/nat.html

Ernie,

Understood, but the data is for 5/28/2011. Is it possible to make FSBuild able to use https links? If it were we could use the FAA PilotWeb and you wouldn't have to concern yourself with it.

Is there a fix for this yet? As previously posted, the current data that FSBuild will read from is a few weeks old.

https://pilotweb.nas.faa.gov/common/nat.html This site appears to be current, but FSBuild doesn't like the link when I modify the .cfg file and try to download the NATS.

Thank you,
Jerry

A workaround if you have either a place to host a web file or even dropbox will work (a basic drop box account is free). Visit https://pilotweb.nas.faa.gov/common/nat.html and save the page. It will save it as a North Atlantic Tracks.mht file. Place this or save this in your public dropbox folder. Then go to your public dropbox folder and right-click on the file and select DropBox > Copy Public Link. This will copy the URL into your clipboard. Then go to the FSBuild2.cfg file and paste that link (may look something like http://dl.dropbox.com/u/10426166/North% ... Tracks.mht) where it states NATRAKURL= It will look something like this afterwards NATRAKURL=http://dl.dropbox.com/u/10426166/North%20Atlantic%20Tracks.mht

This appears to work as a workaround. Of course, you'll need to update this each time you want to grab a fresh copy of the NAT's, but the URL should remain the same. This beats using data several weeks older.

Enjoy
Jerry

I've updated the Cron job to look at Pilotweb, since it seems notams.jcs.mil is gone for good.

This is the new NATS url.

NATRAKURL=www.fsbuild.com/nat/pilotweb.nas.faa.gov/common/nat.html

Regards.
Ernie.
