I am sure this will be covered in the upcoming documentation, but are we supposed to click the "Rebuild Map Databases" button to run this process when we update the AIRAC data?

Cool, I don't use the plan mode, as I usually get a routing from FlightAware or vRoute and use that, so doing this is not required.

I was really surprised the other day when I ran the "Update Map Databases" after installing the 1101 AIRAC cycle; it only took about 3 minutes to complete. I watched it run through all jetways and navaids and it seems to produce FP's OK. I'm still running 2402...

Is it possible to complete this in 3 minutes? This was on my dedicated FSX rig running a i7-920@4GHz on Win7x64. How can I tell if it really completed the update?

I'd like to hear other's detail their personal experiences...

It needs even a little bit less than 35 minutes on my old PIII/800 MHz/512 MByte/Win98SE …

Map databases seems to be build in the following order (if I remember correctly): VOR - NDB - Intersections - Airports - Airways - SID - STAR (or … - STAR - SID, I can't determine this). If you can see all these steps, than everything should be correct.

But please install 2.4.0.3, because 2.4.0.2 (and earlier) accesses the airway-database under its old name, so you don't get actual airways. Ernie has corrected this in 2.4.0.3!

Its possible I guess. It takes 30 mins on my i5, but you have more horsepower than I do.
