Okay, I've read through all of the other threads on how to get ASE to work with FSBuild but I'm still getting the "can't open wx_station_list.txt" file error. I've checked and the file has the proper format, all of my option settings are right, I'm pointing to the correct folder, but I still get the error. I also notice that while the folder shows correctly when I look at it in options, if I try to update the folder location, it pulls up the FSBuild folder, not the folder I had it pointed to.

System info -

Windows XP SP3
ActiveSky Evolution build 642
FSBuild 2.4.0.15

"can't open wx_station_list.txt" file error.

When and where do you see this message?
What is the path to this folder on your PC?
Can you open the file using NotePad?

I see it when it completes the build process and shows the export successes/failures.

I'm using the same folder path as everyone else in the Documents & Settings folder (which is why I took the time to say that I'd gone through the previous threads and ensured that everything was set the same).

Yes, I can open the file using notepad without a problem.

Okay, I fixed the problem after several attempts at figuring it out -

For some reason, even though I'd select the "\Weather" folder in ASE, it wouldn't actually save it to the CFG file. After I finally went in and edited it in the CFG itself manually, it actually works fine now.

Well, I still do not understand what you did or exactly what was wrong.
But, I am happy you got it going and FSBuild is providing weather data in you route.

Vaughn, if you look at the other thread, you will see the path where ASE resides in the "Documents & Settings" or "Users" folder (depending on your OS - XP or Vista/7 respectively). The TXT file that FSBuild uses to know where the weather stations are for weather information resides under the Hifi\ASE\Weather tree. I selected the "Weather" folder through the in-program section dialogue, but for whatever reason, it did not take this selection into FSBuild and instead set the tree to terminate at "ASE", thus causing the error. When I went into the FSBuild.cfg file and manually set the path properly, the system started working.

The missing information:

This is what I wanted to know:
What is the path to this folder on your PC?

And there are several cfg files ... one of which belongs to FSbuild.
I did not know what your's contained.

And I did not have the exact "results" error message that FSBuild posted when you did a build.

I'm adding this because I just bought ASE and had a deuce of a time getting to work.
FSBuild has a config file called strangely enough fsbuild2.cfg. This is located in the directory where FSBuild was installed.
On the main FSBuild window in the drop down box for Weather under the side tab Options and the Settings bottom tab, I selected ACTIVESKY.
Am running Windows 7 Professional and FSX with ASE.

My fsbuild2.cfg file looks like this:

[FSBUILD]
AUTOREFRESH_DELAY=1
MAGYEAR=2005
AIRCRAFT=B767-300 Level-D
SBPC_SERVER=www.vatsim.net
WEATHERPROG=ACTIVESKY

<---Start of my comment- Note the above line should read: WEATHERPROG=ACTIVESKY - end of my comment

[MS-FLIGHTSIMULATOR]
FS_HOME=G:\FSX
ACTIVESKY=C:\Users\XXXXXX\AppData\Roaming\HiFi\ASE\Weather

<---start of my comment Note the above line is the path where FSBuild will find the wx_station_list.txt
replace XXXXXX with the user name you are signed in under
Now here is THE kicker. Use capital letters ONLY where you see them
when you look at the tree in windows explorer to the weather folder on your C drive.
I made the mistake of using all CAPS in my path...WRONG! I know, what was I thinking?..I know better...Note your path might
be a bit different to get to the weather folder, but you get the idea. Also note I don't put FSX on my C: drive...too
many issues as I'm sure you're aware. - end of my comment.

[FLY!]

[PS1]

[X-PLANE]

[STARTUP]
STEP_CLIMB
TOC_TOD
INCL_CROSSING_ALTS
CLEARMAP_BEFORE_BUILD
DISPRTEWPTSONMAP
INCL_NL_PLTINP_HDRS
WINDS_ALOFT
RVSM_FL
FSX_GPS
LDS767
PMDG737NG
AUTOREFRESH_ON

Your config file will no doubt vary from mine in places like AIRCRAFT=B767-300 Level-D or WINDS_ALOFT. I wrote this up as no doubt I'll forget this very small bit of information in the future and will need to find it again. Hope it helps. Happy flying!
