I am trying to enter some of the Antarctica airports, NZIR, NZPG, NZWD for instance. I've only tried NZIR so far.

I have entered the data as shown in the Data Files how-to user guide in both the fsb-_city.txt and the fsb_apts.txt, and for good measure added them into the apts.txt as well.

However, the airport is not showing up in the flight planner.

Any thoughts?

Cheers,

Chris.

Hi Ernie,

Been away for a while! I'm using FSBuild 2.3.1. My PC is running Win7 64; I have FSBuild and FSX installed in the C: drive directly.

Interestingly, I found the following Antarctica airports in a file called xp_apt.idx.

10452 NZWD Mcmurdo Station
10453 NZIR Mcmurdo Station Ice Runway
10454 NZPG Mcmurdo Station Pegasus Field

I'm not sure what this file is used for, but these airports don't show up at all, however it would be nice if they did.

The current database does have a McMurdo Station in it as follows:

NZCM MCMURDO_STATION 58 S77:50:46 E166:40:36 03_10000_S77:50:00_E166:40:60_030_--- 07_10000_S77:50:00_E166:40:60_070_--- 15_8000_S77:50:00_E166:40:60_150_--- 21_10000_S77:50:00_E166:40:60_210_--- 25_10000_S77:50:00_E166:40:60_250_--- 33_8000_S77:50:00_E166:40:60_330_---

I would like to add several of the main fields that are used in AntarcticaX. Here's what I have devised so far for the McMurdo Ice Runway based on the info in the AntarcticaX manual:

NZIR MCMURDO_ICE_RUNWAY 13 S77:50:49 E166:33:23 13_10000_S77:50:20_E166:31:38_146_--- 31_10000_S77:51:41_E166:36:00_326_---

I've gone over and over the formatting but obviously I'm missing something very simple. FSBuild opens and works just fine, except this airport refuses to show up. Any ideas please?

Cheers,

Chris Allan

I also just noticed that the airway A338 from Christchurch to Antarctica (McMurdo) has just about all the waypoints re-named.

Here is the waypoint info from another Navigraph product based on the current real world data:

A338 001 NOBEY -77.750000 165.700000
A338 002 BYRRD -77.500000 165.000000
A338 003 JEHOO -76.183833 165.856750
A338 004 BOENZ -75.000000 166.500000
A338 005 JIPIG -74.166667 166.868334
A338 006 SNIPT -70.000000 168.333333
A338 007 URROA -65.000000 169.533333
A338 008 FRITH -60.000000 170.333333
A338 009 MYLUS -55.000000 170.916667
A338 010 LASSE -50.000000 171.333333
A338 011 HELGE -45.230956 172.227744
A338 012 PEHRR -44.166222 172.406583
A338 013 CH -43.504111 172.514639

The old waypoints KALVA through to ANOPA appear to have been replaced.

Cheers,

Chris.

xp_apt.idx is for X-Plane.

Where did you place those airports in the file ?

They will not display if they are not in Alphabetical order. IOW if you simply stick them at the boittom of the file it will not find them as it stops looking after it finds no more airports with that same first letter in the file.

So it is important they be placed in the file in Alphabetical order.

Regards.
Ernie.
