Fsbuild-2 Flight Planner

I am trying to connect weather and winds aloft into FSB. I also get "When building a flightplan it states that it cannot open wx_station_list.txt file". I tried to find this file but it does not exist on my system. None of the paths suggested by others exist either. Cannot use path C:\Users\xxxx\appdata etc. appdata does not exist. Grateful for any ideas.

I have no idea where it gets to on a Win8 system - your best bet would be to ask over at the HiFi support forum at their site...

You might try over at AVSIM and see if anybody is using it with Win8...

Its in C:\Users\xxxx\appdata\Roaming\hifi\XEngine\ASX\Weather in mine.

I suggest maybe doing a file search of your HD to find out where it is.

For those interested, in Windows 8, appdata exists but is generally hidden. In Windows Explorer type C:\Users\XXXX\ then appdata etc. However, this still does not allow FSB to find wx_station_list, which is in the WEATHER directory. Using ....\appdata\roaming\AS2012\Weather\ASv6 also does not work. ERR cannot fin wx_station_list, still exists.

Have you tried turning off UAC and running FSB from the right click "run as administrator" (assuming that still exists in Win8)?

Yes, have tried running both as Administrator, although I have given myself full rights. Not sure what UAC is!

UAC is "User Access Control" which you can turn down (but not off in Win8) via the Control Panel - it governs access to protected parts of the file system (program files and the user folders among others). UAC is stronger in Win8 than in Win7 and it might be blocking the read of the weather files. I don't have Win8 and won't be getting it so until the overall experience rate gets higher, that's about all I can suggest.

I've got AS2012 on a Win8 laptop, it's an upgrade from ASE. "wx_station_list.txt" is on "C:\users\pwafer\appdata\roaming\hifi\AS2012\weather\wx_station_list.txt" on my system.
