Using Navigraph 1406 without issue here Gary.

Did you rebuild the navigation database?

I hadn't, so I just did, now peak4 is drawing 5 out of 6 fixes (was only 4) and peak3 doesn't draw anything except the first and last fixes !! I also notice that UBDAN waypoint isn't being displayed on either of them.

Both of them show the full star route (including UBDAN) in the route box on the right side of the screen so the route is there, it's just not displaying.

Something has changed though because in previous installs when I tried that I just had a screen with a 'rebuild' button and the rebuild crashed every time, this time I had a map and could watch what it was indexing and it finished successfully. The only thing that has changed from my last try is that last time I went from the installer (FSBuildSetup23.exe) straight to Fsbuild_24031_update.exe, this time I went from the installer to Fsbuild24018_Upd.exe and then to Fsbuild_24031_update.exe.

Now I'm totally confused. Do I need to apply every patch that's ever been released in sequence or something maybe ?

Edit : I downloaded a new installer, which gave me 2.4.018 out of the box then updated direct to 2.4.031, applied airac 1406, pasted the peak3A star back in, rebuilt the map database, and got the same failresult. Then, to be thorough, I reapplied airac 1406 and rebuilt the map databases without tinkering with the stars.txt file - obviously I don't have the peak3A to try out any more, but peak4A still appears as just waypoints, and finally, to be super thorough, I reapplied 1406 and DIDN'T rebuild anything - no joy.

The really annoying thing is that it's not consistent - at randomly chosen RJAA (japan) and YSSY (Australia) all the randomly chosen stars just display waypoints, while at KLAX (USA) and EGLL (UK) all the randomly chosen stars correctly display route lines. At WMKK (Kuala Lumpur) I just get waypoints, I thought it might be a weird equatorial thing but KL is northern hemisphere so no ...

And to make it really bizarre, back at NZAA looking at the 05R SIDs, BROK1B just displays a waypoint (fair enough, the whole route is just the one waypoint) while EMRAG1 (which is also just one waypoint) and RANG1B display waypoints and route lines.

I'm pretty much out of ideas at this point ...

Thanks
Gary

This is the first time that I've ever heard of this happening - something is very wrong in your installation. Make sure that 'ROUTELINE=1' is in the [FSBUILD] section of your fsbuild2.cfg file. If it is not then add it. Otherwise, I expect the developer (Ernie) will be by at some point and give you a better answer.

You'll probably need to rebuild the Map database. A Navdata update can put the text data out of synch with the Map data.

Yes, routeline=1 is in there :|

I've been trying a couple more things. If I enter the route as NZAA WN PEAKS BLUNT AVNOP ERVAX UBDAN ALBAD NZCH then go into plan mode I get a nice black route line with all the intersections displayed so FSB knows about the intersections that make up the PEAKS4A star, it just doesn't show them properly.

I tried created a new star PEAKS8A :
PEAKS8A PEAKS
PEAKS8A BLUNT
PEAKS8A AVNOP
PEAKS8A ERVAX
PEAKS8A UBDAN
PEAKS8A ALBAD
which is about as simple as it gets - and when I select that one all I get is 5 red intersections (UBDAN is missing from the map but gets added to the route if I add the star) but no red route line. So it seems the problem is not with the navdata, it is to do with the display of the sids/stars.

So one last try ...
Uninstall FSBuild
Install 2.4.018
yes, star PEAK3A displaying red line
Rebuild map index
yes, star PEAK3A displaying red line
Update to 2.4.031
yes, star PEAK3A displaying red line
Update navdata using the Navigraph Data Manager (the others have all been manual updates)
PEAK3A star has been replaced by PEAK4A
No PEAK4A does not display a route line when previewed, or all the waypoints.
Rebuild map databases
No PEAK4A does not display a route line when previewed, or all the waypoints.

I'm out of ideas again. Hopefully Ernie can come up with something.

Thanks
Gary

Edit - Ernie, lost count of how many times I've rebuilt the map database. OS is win7-64bit, FSB is installed in c:\FSBUILD so UAC leaves it alone. Thanks.

You've both shown them with a black routeline after you've added them to your route. That works fine for me too.

The problem, which I showed in the screenshots but on reviewing the post never made clear, is that I can't preview them with a RED line BEFORE I add them to the route.

Misread your post Gary, the red preview line when selecting a STAR in PM is indeed missing. I couldn't say when it went adrift as it's a feature I wouldn't use.

Gary,

You are correct.

For that part of the world FSBuild is not drawing PM SID/STAR lines in preview.
I also tested e.g. CZCH YMML .... it bad too on SIDs and STARS ... drawing the route segment red lines.

However .. in USA e.g. KLAX KSAN or KDTW KORD it works properly.

That's exactly what I found - oh thank goodness, it's not just me !!

Ernie may not be quite so happy though :|

Sudden thought from my few tests which I don't have time to go into right now -
EGxx worked
Kxxx worked
NZxx fail
RJxx fail
WMxx fail
YSxx fail

I wonder if the problem is alphabetical ?? An index somewhere running out of space and stopping in the middle of the alphabet, or some rogue character in the middle of the navdata ?

Ok, starting from the basics ... I'm using 2.4.0.31, is that the current version ? I'll have to check it when I get home but I'm not sure that I have a googlemaps tab ...

Thanks
Gary
