Hi,

The pc I use for FSbuild already has a program for collating family history data (http://www.custodian3.co.uk/). This program is a access database.
When I loaded FSbuild, this program started to show prolems, such as not being able to access the data. When Custodian 3 was re loaded FSbuild started to show errors such as the great circle route button missing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated - as I fear that Family history and the 1500 records that the database contains is going to win if I can't resolve the problem

Thanks

Simon

Just to add more detail this id the error I'm getting in FSbuild when Custodian 3 is working correctly. In this screen shot I have just pushed the PM button - As you can see the GCR button is missing and I have an error message

Hmmm,
I'm really not sure what to tell you on this one.

The clue seems to be that the program that is loaded first is the one that runs correctly.

Perhaps some sort of conflict with one of the shared controls. But what it could be or which control it could be is anyones guess.

The error message from your screenshot I've never even seen before. It must be comng from the system.

Previous problems with the GCR button reported had to do with the program crashing when the GCR button as pressed. In those case thge solution was found by ridding the system of spyware or viruses. But in your case the GCR buttion is not there at all when the other program is running first.

Regards.
Ernie.

Thanks Ernie,

Just some additional info - the program that runs correctly is the program that has been installed second. FSbuild shows errors when it has been installed first regardless of whether custodian is running or not.

I also get the same error message if I use autogenerate.

Thanks

Simon

That sounds like some dll's being overwritten, or com components of the same name being (re-)registered during install.

Simon,

If it is dll's being overwritten, then no. If it is registration of com dll's, then yes, there is a work around, but it would take some effort to find whch one(s). I guess the only realistic option is to re-install (repair option, if available) each app before use.
