Hi:

I have a very cool FED EX B787 dreamliner plane that I like flying in. I'd like to install my ISG gauges and pop up panels in that plane. When going to the panel.cfg file it says

[fltsim]
alias=fsfsconv\757-200\panel

OK, so I figured I needed to go to the fsfsconv folder and install the gauges there. Looking in the fsfsconv folder there is no indication of a 757 panel. So, I did a global search for 757 on my computer and there's nothing there.

How would one go about finding the panel.cfg file for the fsfsconv ?

I'd really like to get these gauges installed.

thanks,

virtflier

Hi virtflier,

Yeah - it takes some work to get these gauges setup correctly in a plane of your choice... The easiest way to do it is FS Panel Studio available from Flight1...

It sounds like you are on the right track... "fsfsconv" is just a generic place where some programs load panels... It's useful to use aliases if you have multiple aircraft using the same panel... If the alais for your 787 point to that 757 panel - and that 757 panel doesn't exist in you fsfsconv directory - I really don't know how it works at all... You definately have to track down the 757 panel before you can modify it... Once found - you will need to edit the panel.cfg by hand if you don't have FS Panel Studio... The easiest way - is to fine the gauge you want to swap and just replace it with the ISGsim gauge name... It may take some tweaking to position it correctly...

Hope this helps...

Regards,
Scott

Scottb -

Yea, I can't find that anywhere, yet FSFSCONV points to it .... looking again though, it's the B737 default panel. LOL.

Regarding the gauge placement, I agree. I'm the one who did the tutorial for ISG gauge installation. I really do think that the tutorial does make it a lot easier by the step by step approach. Now, I can place gauges and buttons and pop-ups where I feel they fit best. Finding the panel itself? LOL, another story.

Check out the tutorial page on http://www.cobrevalleyvideo.com/isg/isgtrailer

Sounds like a CamSim plane. Default it to your B737_800 panel instead. Im surprised it wasn't aliased to the A321 panel.

Thanks Scott -

and Thanks to Ernie, an old friend, who gave me the opportunity to help all of us. I've learned a lot about gauges and panels in a short period of time - yet I've still a lot to learn.
