Hi Ernie,
Thank you for allowing me to try out the 2.2 beta of FSBuild, which I am especially interested in because of its ability to use wind data from Active Sky. However, I’ve noticed that the wind data presented in the FSBuild flight plan appears not to match that available in the Active Sky weather report? I compared the wind reports per waypoint in FSBuild with the summary data offered by Active Sky at the end of the wx report, but these are rather different. Now, since I think it’s clear that the AS summary is presenting data for the winds at cruise level only(note the winds speeds and the temperatures in the summary data), it may well be that your averages are more accurately calculated from the winds aloft data. Can you let me know how you perform this calculation for wind speed/direction, and whether you take altitude into account at each waypoint?
By the way, when FSB queries AS, does it always use the most recent weather report from those available?
Many thanks,
Frank
PS. I didn't realise 2.2 had been released. Should I download the update or is it the same as the beta?
