I have searched this forum but could not find a solution - sorry if I overlooked something. When I generate a flightplan, the navlog shows 000000 for winds aloft. I have ActiveSkyX and FSX, both with most recent service packs, installed. FSBuild version is 2.3.7.3 Build 226. Windows XP home edition. Location of ASX downloaded weather files is :
C:\Documents and Settings\Emile\Application Data\HiFi\XEngine\ASX\Weather
which I have entered and saved in FSBuild (for cfg code AS6). Would anyone know what I'm doing wrong ? TVMIA for any help.

Emile.

Search your hard drive for:
current_wx_snapshot.txt
Note the directory path to this file.
This is the file that provides FSBuild the winds aloft.

Seems I had this exact same issue a year ago. This time I have -

Set path to weather txt file in Activesky X
Set weather programme in use in Settings (in my case I only get one option = ACTIVESKY, not AS6 like Emile)
Enabled Winds Aloft in Settings
Restarted FSBuild2
(Reality-check Fsbuild .fcg file - all looks OK)
Loaded ASK weather engine
Created PMDG 747X fltplan KSEA-KSFO
Still no winds aloft in plan.

Than Ernie suggested we "Check wx program you are using on Aircraft page" but I can see nothing on the Aircraft page to that effect.

What am I missing please?

Thanks
Gareth

Ernie mentioned in an earlier post:
Use 'AS6' for ActiveSky 2004 and above versions. Use 'ActiveSky' for the earlier WxRe versions, if anyione is still using it.

Go to Options, Settings, on the right side below the aircraft selection, select Wx program from drop down list.

Edit: then save, then exit FSbuild so the changes take effect.

Thanks Von,

On the Options/Settings page the weather drop-down menu gives me only one choice: ACTIVESKY. This is selected. Winds aloft is selected in Options.

The relevant parts of my fsbuild2.cfg reads as follws:

[FSBUILD]
AUTOREFRESH_DELAY=1
MAGYEAR=2002
AIRCRAFT=B747-400 w/ PW4056
SBPC_SERVER=www.vatsim.net
ROUTELINE=1
NATRAKURL=www.natroutes.glideslope.de/html/nats.php3
WEATHERPROG=ACTIVESKY

[MS-FLIGHTSIMULATOR]
FS_HOME=F:\PROGRAM FILES (X86)\MICROSOFT GAMES\MICROSOFT FLIGHT SIMULATOR X
ACTIVESKY=C:\USERS\GARETH\APPDATA\ROAMING\HIFI\XENGINE\ASX\WEATHER

I'll look at it fresh tomorrow and try typing in AS6, though I did try this earlier without success.

Thanks again

Gareth

Gareth,

Go to this date and subjext/title and read it.
I placed some of the data here.

**********************

Guys, pls help me out with this:

For the second day I'm trying to set up FSBUILD to read winds aloft from ASX. In FSBuild2.cfg I got the following line:

ACTIVESKY=C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\LEN\APPLICATION DATA\HIFI\XENGINE\ASX\WEATHER

That's were ASX's current_wx_snapshot.txt file is generated indeed on the Client PC.

****************

Ok, I've sorted it out myself:

When using ASX, FSBuild should read the weather from AS6, not ActiveSky. It did the trick, ASX is very convenient to use compared to FSMeteo.
*********
I hope it can help you.
In this forum I selected "search" then "activesky" to find this data.
