I find that there is no option listed for exporting a flight plan directly to Radar Contact. Although I have resolved issues with being able to export to FSX the real reason that I purchased the product was to export directly to Radar Contact. Is there something that I should have done when installing FSBuild?

It seems that RC v4.3, the current one for FSX, imports FSX flight plans (.pln files). It offers support for legacy .apl flight plans, but that's just that, legacy. Curious, is there a specific reason you want to import a specific RC format flight plan? I've been using RC since the beginning, no problem importing .pln files created from FSBuild.

Regards,

Dave

You raise a good point. While my original intention was to export directly to RC4 it has become evident that I would still need to export to FSX so that the flight plan shows up in the GPS. So I have revised my approach and am exporting to FSX and then loading the plan into RC4 from FSX. Since I just found and installed GateKeeper I am able to retain my departure gate. All that is working ok except for the plan itself. I usually do testing of anything new using the Cessna 172 so my first plan was from EGNT to LFPG in Paris. Because it is the Cessna I set the cruise altitude in FSBuild to 6000 feet. It built the plan showing 6000 feet. But when I exported to FSX and went to the load screen I saw that high level route was checked. I looked at the FSX Navlog and that showed 6000 feet. I then loaded the same plan into RC4 and that showed the default altitude of 25000 feet. I am not yet familar enough with low and high level airways to tell from the waypoints whether it actually is high level. There is probably something more that I need to do in FSBuild as I am just learning how to use it. Sorry if I have rambled on. Thank you very much for pointing me in the right direction regarding RC4.

The RC format was for RC99, we only kept it on the menu for legacy reasons.

Regards.
Ernie.
