Fsbuild-2 Flight Planner

For reasons I do not understand, Active Sky Evolution will not read the PLN files generated by FSBuild. I am running 2.4.0.8 and every other plan it generates works fine, but the PLN file in apparently unreadable by ASE. When I import it, I get blank departure and destination and no other usable info. This is the file that FSCommander 9.0 uses, and I remember it had to be tweaked into a new format so it would function with that program.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Yes, it worked with versions that did not include the updated format of PLN files for FSCommander. Originally, 2.4.xxx did not work with FSCommander 9 because they changed the plan format required for FSCommander 9. That was fixed by Ernie, but now I cannot get ASE to read the new PLN file.

No I have not tried build 14 yet. I've gone through installing 3 previous builds...and since I am running one version for FS9 and one version for FSX (yes, I still fly both) changing versions every other day becomes a chore.

Still hoping someone has an answer.

So, you are a "beta" tester!
Well, all of the "new" versions are for testing and reporting problems.
... yes, I also still fly both .... so, I do the chores each time.
I am sure Ernie will not go back to test ver 8 anymore.

Okay...here's the problem. The .PLN files created by old versions of FSBuild (that worked with Active Sky Evolution) are different that the .PLN files created by 2.4.xxxx.

Notice that the whole section under [FLIGHTPLAN] is missing from the second, non-working plan. How do I get it back so that Active Sky will read it, without ruining it for FSCommander?

What are you exporting to?

What is the route in your flight plan box?

What version of FSBuild did you use?

I need to duplicate your results.

Old = [FSC70]
New = [FSCFP]

These were done for FSX.
The routes are as stated in the flight plans.
TXKF to KJFK was the old plan that worked.
KDCA to KBOS was the new plan that did not.

The only PLN file comes as an export to FSCommander.

The last plan was done with 2.4.0.14 (KDCA-KBOS).

The key question is, do YOU have the ability to create a FP in FSBUild and then import it to ASE and get the whole route? If so, how do you do it?

No.

But I assume other ASE users are importing it OK with FSBuild ver 14.

Problem solved. Flight Simulator file was missing from Documents folder so the FSX GPS .PLN file that ASE needed was not being created. The .PLN file that is created for FSCommander 9.0 is not compatable with ASE.

I had assumed that you had a good FSX setup and FSBuild exports to FSX path/folders were without error.
