I have just downloaded FS Build today and tried to create a flight plan from EGGL to LYBE and when I had gone through the process I received the following box message;

Err-unable to open Activesky 'wx_station_list.txt file
Unable to create FS2000 file c\users\michael\docvuments\F.S.Files\EGLL-LYBE.pin
Unable to create ISG File C\programs files(x86)\microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\ISL\Flight PLans\EGLL_LYBE.rte

Created Google MAps File 'fsbgooglemap.ltm

I feel that I have done something wrong obviously and would appreciate any assistance please.

Prior to carrying this out I did look at the various video tutorials.

I thank you in anticipation.

Hi Ernie,

Many thanks for your reply.

I previously went through the set up process as per the tutorial but again when compiling another flight plan I am getting the same message.

When I am trying to find the FSX root folder I go through Programme files(x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator and then I click on Microsoft Flight Simulator.

I am not sure where I am going wrong and would appreciate further help.

Many thanks.

Michael

Hi Ernie,

Thanks for your reply.

Yes,I am running FS Build as administrator as I am using Windows 7.

I have just tried to enter a flight EGLL to EGCC and I get the following message;

Unable to create ISG file
c:\Program Files(x86) Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator\ISG\Flight Plans\EGLL-EGCC.Rte
Created GoogleMaps file 'fsbgooglemap.htm

I do not know what the ISG file refers to and whether or not this is part of the problem.

Would welcome further assistance.

Michael

Hi again Ernie,

I think I may have cracked it and now following my flight plan creation I am getting confirmation that the flight plan has been created.

Once I have done this I then click on export and send it to FS2004/FSX.

I have just created a plan from EGLL to LYBE but the plan is not quite the same when I open FSX and go to the flight planner.The waypoints are not exactly the same.

Am I right in saying that when I open FSX and the flight planner that I just,as usual,just enter the current and destination airports and then click on say High Altitude route and click on find route-is that the correct way with FS Build?

Look forward to your confirmation or otherwise.

MIchael

After you have created your route with FSBuild and exported it to an FS plan, all you need do is start FS, open the flight planner and press the load button, find your plan, and press OK - it will be loaded into the planner and then you just press OK and you're good to go. You need not enter anything into the planner manually.

Many thanks for your reply.

I now understand the process and I have just checked and the same flight plan built in FS Build went straight into FSX with no issues.However,I also use Pro Flight Emulator and when I transfered the flight plan from FSX into PFE the flight plan was not totally the same-some waypoints were missing and I now understand that you cannot use the fsx.pln(xml) with PFE-you have to use the FS2004/FSX button.

However when I just tried that for a EGLL to KJFK flight I received the following message;
Result

Unable to create FS2000 file c:\ users\Michael\Documents\FS Files\EGLL -KJFK.PLN OK
I am therefore wondering why I am unable to create this file.

Further help would be appreciated.

Michael

The first thing to do is to make sure that the directory path c:\ users\Michael\Documents\FS Files actually exists. If it does not, then create it manually.
