I am new to FS Build and I am trying to understand the process for compiling a route accross the Atlantic.

I have seen the tutorial video which is pretty straightforward.

However,I would like clarification on the following process.

When I go into FS Build and enter the route say EGLL to KJFK do I press auto generate first and then complete the Atlantic Tracks process afterwards or is it vice versa.

I would appreciate clarification of the proper way to do this.

Many thanks in anticipation.

Many thanks for your reply.

I am obviously new to FS Build so please forgive me my ignorance.

Firstly I have looked at the video and the notes and to a point understand the process.

Please confirm that this process is correct;

1.I enter departure and arrival airports
2.I auto generate the flight plan as usual and press build.
3.Then go through the North Atlantic Tracks process until the flight plan is shown in the flight plan box.
4.I then see a message 'draw route on map'-I am not sure what this means.

What I need to know is following on from action 1 and 2 and then having gone through the North Atlantic Track process do I need to press 'auto generate' again or do I just come out of FS Build having completed the whole process.

I am really sorry if the answer is obvious but I just want to get it right in order for it to be right in Pro Flight Emulator.

I thank you in anticipation.

Hi Ernie,

Many thanks for your reply.

I have read your instructions and I am still a little bit puzzled.
I enter Dep/arr airports in blue box-no problem.I then click on the North Atlantic Tracks button at the bottom and select any East bound track.

I chose one that gave me the following Valie Scrod 56/50 57/40 57/30 56/20 Pikil Soved.

What I do not understand is the 'wildcard character'-what is this and what do I do with it?
I apologise if I appear a little thick but I just want to ensure that I get this right.

Look forward to your reply.

Michael

Hi again Ernie,

Many thanks for all your previuos help in relation to this iussue.

I have just gone back into FS Build to again plan a flight KJFK to EGLL.

Firstly I entered the departure and arrival airports then in the blue flight plan box I manually entered the track which is KJFK*CYMON TRACKW DOLIP*EGLL.
I then pressed 'auto generate' and then the flight plan box was populated with the following flight plan;

KJFK MERIT3. PUT J581 ENE J573 YYG T105 YQX 5047N 5240N 6332N 5315N LESLU UN514 DIDEL 1BON KENET.BNNID EGLL

I am just concerned that Cymon nor Dolip showed up in this flight plan.

Therefore I am wondering if you could tell me where I may have gone wrong.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Michael

THanks Again for youir reply,

I have taken your advice and now the attached flight plan is produced;

KJFK MERIT3.PUT J581 YJT YDF CYMON TRACKW DOLIP SLANY UL9 BASET KENET. BNNID EGLL

Including the 2 airports I have 23 points in my route listed below my above flight plan.

Does this flight plan sound OK to you.

I really appreciate your help in this matter.

Look forward to your confirmation.

Michael
