First, apologies, but I had to set up a second account because your retrieve password link leads to a 404 error, so there was no alternative but to set up a new account as I lost my password.

I'm a big fan of Ernie's work, but I see a very wierd problem with the Boeing type ND, which I see was highlighted by another user post before (in 2007) but not resolved:

Using the HW Boeing ND, MCU, EFIS and Smiths FMC in the default FSX boeing 737-800, there is most definitely a mismatch on the ND display between airport positions and flight plan waypoints and VORs. They are so far out from each other that it becomes almost impossible to fly an effective plan when approaching the airport, because the display of the airfield is completey misaligned to the FP path and shows up to 50miles out of alignment, depending how close you are to the airfield.

But as you get closer to the airport, it sort of accelerates its position on the display relative to the waypoints and ends up at the same position on the display as you over fly the airfield.

This anomoly is very very distinct and is unmistakable. I wonder whether anyone else notices it, or perhaps I have incorrectly installed a configuration file? I doubt that as I would assume that the database the ND is using is pretty solid. Therefore it seems it is a display calibration issue within the ND itself.

So, for example, on an IFR plan between Exeter and Edinburgh UK, the flight proceeds perfectly until either I arrive at the STAR, or if no STAR is flown, the airport appears way way north of the actual Edinburgh airport position. This is extremely disconcerting and results in having to ignore the display as unreliable and revert to the default FSX GPS to confirm position.

I thought this was just a flaw in the UK display, but it seems to happen everywhere. The airfield ND display is always way way offset from true positions until you are right on top of the actual airfield. I don't know if this is a database fault or just an unintended offset problem. Now, I completely understand that a fix is not going to be forthcoming instantly, so I am content with this otherwise fantastic software, but in the meantime the only alternative is to use other displays which don't fit well into the B737.

Finally, perhaps there has been an update further than 1.5 which I might have missed, and which corrects this, in which case I'm sorry I wasted your time Ernie.

EDIT: BTW this is not the same issue reported elsewhere concerning the aspect ratio of the ND display, since if that was the case ALL the info would be displaced. This issue refers to displacement between data WITHIN the ND display itself.
