When I include a statement for VNAV to be off when I manually select speed in the ISG1 .cfg file for the aircraft in question, speed does not follow the flight plan schedule automatically even if speed has not actually been manually selected. In other words, speed remains fixed at its intial setting and does not change to the cruise speed having reached the TC (top of climb) point. Removal of the statement from the .cfg file does then reenable automatic speed changes under VNAV whilst following the flight plan. Is this a bug, or am I missing the point of using this statement?
How can I set up the autopilot/FMS such that VNAV will be off when speed is selected manually, or is it simply a matter of switching off VNAV manually by pressing the buttton whenever manual speed overide is required?
For your information, the setting I have been using that has caused the issue is VnavSetSpdOffOnManChg=1.
