Greets to Igor and crab453,

Ernie did respond somewhere on the subject of REX and FsBuild along the lines that he might be able look at it some time. That was many moons ago though.

But Igor,I like the sound of your wx setup. Could you share with us how you go about that. I too would prefer the ActiveSky engine if I could use the REX clouds.

Is it simply a matter of loading your preferred clouds via the REX GUI and then starting up ActiveSky with your flights instead of the REX wx engine?

Regards
Gareth

Gareth,

Dec 2009 you said:
"I have searched my drive to no avail so I'lll take it up with the REX developers. I will be delighted to pass on anything that looks interesting. "

Did you get any information from them?

Hi Von,

I honestly can't remember if I contacted them or not. Probably not. Probably got shoved well down the priority list.

Still, worth a try I guess. Although I'm favouring Igor's approach now and will try it tomorrow (close to the midnight hour here...)

Regards
Gareth

Hi Gareth,
Sorry for replying just now, but I've been kinda busy...
Anyway, yeah sure...

I'm running here ASv6.5 + GE Pro + REX 2 (I highly recommend GE Pro)

Anyway, to run ASv6.5 + REX2 with a FSBuild generated Flight Plan you have to:

1) Open REX2
2) Go to Flight Planner, load the FSBuild FP that you created (don't forget to click submit, after)
3) Click on WX Textures to apply he new textures to your FS9

After that you're free to close REX2, open ASv6.5 and FS9, the only thing though is that you have to check your AS settings to see if it's set to force textures from ActiveSky Graphics or any other Texture Source that you may have. So now, AS engine will run with FS9 but it will use REX 2 textures that have been previously loaded to your FS9.

I did a very simple guide, cause I'm assuming that you are comfortable with AS and all the settings...

Please, let me know If you nee a more detailed guide, or If you want to use GE Pro

regards,

Igor

Thanks a lot Igor,

I'll try your suggestions over the weekend. If I have problems I'll get back.
I'll let you know how it works out anyway.

BTW I use FSX but its the same difference I think. I still like FS9

All the best,

Gareth
