All,

RE: http://www.fltplan.com

Just an FYI: Anyone else use http://www.fltplan.com ??? It's free and it seems like it would be a good work around... Simply plug in your "To and From" and when the plan comes up - look for the box with "Recent ATC Routes" as it has the most recent routes really assigned by ATC... Simply copy the route and paste it into the route field in FSBuild... Without going through all the work of building it yourself... I do this for all my flights this way whether I'm crossing an ocean (very rare) or doing a regional hop...

Regards,
Scott

Scott,

The service says USA only.

Can you get a plan KJFK-EGLL using FltPlan.com / and their stored route with NATS plan e.g.?

Hi...

Sorry folks - my mistake... I was testing with different flights from California to Hawaii - I just assumed it would work for other overseas flights... I thought I stumbled upon something...
:(

Scott

Scott,

When go to fltplanDOTcom.

What do you click on to enter your To and From to get the routes (PACOTS) to Hawaii?

And any other domestic flight?

Hi Von,

After you register and login - there should be a navigator down the left hand side of the page. Click on "new flight plan" - then select "domestic ifr" - put in your "to/from" - next screen pulls up your page - scroll down - you should see recent routes. Im assuming the routes used by atc would include PACOTS. I just copy the roué and paste into fsbuild. If it gives you trouble you might need to enter pilot/plane info first - also available on left hand navigator. Just don't use ICAO as it requires even more info. Hope this helps!

Regards,
Scott

Hi Vaughn,

Sorry - you must need to build an aircraft profile first - it's real easy... Just make up some stuff or you can copy mine...

For Example:

Then go back to create a new flight plan like this...

Then you should get something like this...

It's a great tool - except for all the advertisements - I use it for real world flying all the time... My CFI who flies Lear 23's for a living tipped me off to it... Oh - I noticed they have a training video for use with the site by John and Martha King - the same as the instructors in Flight Sim 9...

Scott

Scott,

Ok, let me take a look at all this.

You might want to go back and do a little "edit" to your original post/subject and remove the NATs reference..

Then just basically just tell what this site about. Then others will have a heads up.

Actually after doing a few NATTRACKs in FSbuild it is very fast ... but always nice to know other methods also. Sometimes just to verify data or whatever.

Scott,

I noticed on the sites Login page .. on the left side, the top item is:

"Flight planning"

I thought that column of information with the blace squares (bullete) next to each item was telling site "info". ..line ..advertising all it can do.

So, before I logged in, I clicked on it (Flight planning) ..

Guess what..
I get to a Depart and Arrival airport data entry area.
And, it gives a bunch of routes when it gets done. Like you said before.

It selected a default Cessna .. I did not put that in there.

Maybe it is for folks who do not have the plane information you mentioned?
Anyway, I will click around some more later.

Hi Vaughan,

Jeesh - how many ways can I mispell your name - my appologies...

Yeah - the advertisements are a pain... Are the routes to Hawaii really showing PACOTS ??? Afer further consideration I wasn't really sure... I'm a GA guy so transoceanic travel is not really my thing... Don't PACOTS change all the time - so - FSBuild would need to know about the changes and pasting the route from FltPlan won't really work ???

Regards,
Scott

Scott,

Actually, I initially thought by your first post, you had already verified NATS/PACOTS routes on that site.

"Are the routes to Hawaii really showing PACOTS??":
I do not know.
You would have to send the site an e-mail and get information on PACOTS to Hawaii.

But I do know the site cannot build any route to Europe so it does not do NATS routes at all!
FSBuild users cannot use this site for flights to Europe.

I have not checked out the site much, other than to notice that USA routes were displayed.

NATS/PACOTS routes do change twice daily.

I use FSBuild for all routes.

When I start FSbuild it first downloads NATS and PACOTS before I do any flight plan.
So, they are always available to me, if needed.
No need to go to another internet site.

That's why I mention you might want to edit out the references to NATS in your original post.
And possibly also give information on what to click on etc. when you get to the site and do they really have to register first (the need to post personal information).

You can go back to any previous post in this thread and click on the "edit" button inside the post to edit and resave the post.

Hi Ernie,

Yeah - sorry for the confusion - please feel free to DELETE this thread as I really didn't bring anything new and it might confuse people later on...

Scott
