FSBUILD Version: 2.4.0.14
Flight Plan: MMUN SAME1A SAMED UB881 MYDIA B881 EPSON HILTI TAY FLO J55 TUBAS J51 OTT FAK FAK.PHLBO2 KEWR
Departure runway: 12R
AIRAC Cycle: 1103 (current)

While viewing the SID route in PM mode (before inserting), everything looks fine. Once you insert SAME1A, however, the sid waypoints change locations to all over the world.

I took a look at SIDS.TXT and think I have determined the problem. The SAME1A waypoints are correct in SIDS.TXT:

SAME1A /T124/UA 420 12R --- ---
SAME1A CUN --- 12R 21.025108 -86.858995
SAME1A CUN /T124/UD4.0 --- 12R 21.025108 -86.858995
SAME1A D106F --- 12R 20.997519 -86.756051
SAME1A D088F --- 12R 21.028564 -86.751945
SAME1A D070F --- 12R 21.059274 -86.758319
SAME1A D052F --- 12R 21.086642 -86.774554
SAME1A D034F --- 12R 21.107986 -86.799065
SAME1A D015F --- 12R 21.122433 -86.832611
SAME1A SAMED --- 12R 21.428611 -86.749445

The problem I believe is that many of the waypoint names that start with "D" exist in other SIDs around the world and/or there are other intersections with the same name.

For example, the waypoint "D106F" is also in the TAL2FS/TALM2F SIDs from LLBG. "D088F" is also in D2B SID from VRMM.

"D052F" does not exist in another SID, but does exist in INTS.TXT at a different location:

D052F D052F 49.736667 73.500000 EEU

From what I'm seeing, it appears that FSBUILD will always grab the last intersection defined in INTS.TXT when inserting them in a SID (and probably in STARs also). When intersection names exist more than once, like the waypoints for the SAME1A SID, it just grabs the last one defined in the file and that's what's inserted. But again, it previews the SID fine in red in PM mode.

I could be wrong, but I believe this has "always" been a problem. I recall there's been various times in the past where an inserted waypoint from a SID or STAR is far away from where I expect it to be. In this case, I've generally just manually entered the waypoints and left out the wayward ones.

Ernie,

This is a pretty big issue. Rather than using the last intersection from INTS.TXT, the coordinates for SID/STAR waypoints need to come from the SIDS.TXT or STARS.TXT from the applicable procedure.

Thanks Ernie. Wish other developers were as responsive as you are!

Cheers!

But this issue issue is fixed in v..0.15.

Not ready (available) yet, correct?
