Under options I have Item FS2004/FSX pointed to C:\Users\MyName\Documents\Flight Simulatgor X Files

FSX (xml) plans export fine to this location, but when I try and export a FS2004/FSX plan FSBuild wants to export/save it to C:\Users\MyName\Documents\Flight Simulatgor X Files\Pilots

How can I get this default changed to the C:\Users\MyName\Documents\Flight Simulatgor X Files folder?

I looked in the FSBuild.cfg file and see no other location for FSX (xml) or FS2004/FSX flight plans than FS_HOME=C:\USERS\RJS\DOCUMENTS\FLIGHT SIMULATOR X FILES, FSX (xml) gets saved to this location, but when I select FS2004/FSX it will not export/save to this location.

FS_HOME should point to your primary flight simulator (whether FS9 or FSX; for ex: C:\FSX) directory. Then FSBuild FSX plans export by default to C:\USERS\RJS\DOCUMENTS\FLIGHT SIMULATOR X FILES, FS9 files to C:\USERS\RJS\DOCUMENTS\FLIGHT SIMULATOR FILES - neither is in the fsbuild2.cfg file. If you point FS home to where you say you do, it will get confused.

For some reason I thought that FS_HOME was for the documents folder. I changed it to point to my FSX folder, shut down FSBuild and restarted.

FSBuild still wants to save a 2004/FSX plan to C:\Users\RJS\Documents\Flight Simulator X Files\Pilots instead of C:\Users\RJS\Documents\Flight Simulator X Files.

Any ideas why it wants to save FS9 plans to C:\Users\RJS\Documents\Flight Simulator X Files\Pilots? Or do you have any ideas how I can change it to C:\Users\RJS\Documents\Flight Simulator X Files?

Forget the above response, I forgot to save my changes under settings after I changed the path to FSX.

Now I get a message "Unable to create FS2000 file C:\Users\RJS\Documents\Flight Simulator Files\KLBB-KFTW.PLN, but at least it has the right path.

Under the Export To tab I have selected FS2004/FSX so why does it say unable to create FS2000 file?

Is it because I do not have FS9 installed or is it something else?

I just like the FS9/FSX plan files because they are easier to read than the FSX (xml) plan files.

It's because you don't have FS9 installed. To fix it all you have to do is create a "Flight Simulator Files" folder in Documents...

I feel like an idiot DJ.

You do not know how many times I looked at what you were telling me and I never noticed the difference between

C:\Users\RJS\Documents\Flight Simulator X Files

and

C:\Users\RJS\Documents\Flight Simulator Files

and this is even after I typed C:\Users\RJS\Documents\Flight Simulator Files\KLBB-KFTW.PLN last night. I just never noticed that darn "X"!

Thanks for your patience and now I can save FS2004/FSX plans!

You're welcome - same thing happened to me so I knew what to do.
