Hi Ernie,
It happened again this past weekend on a flight from BVT to PHL.
Flying the Premier Aircraft Design Dash-8 Q300 for FSX. Cruise altitude was 16000'. Crossing restrictions set prior to departure: SPUDS 250/10000, BOJID 220/6000, FERUS 190/4000.
Departing BVT rwy 19, I flew runway heading to 5000' before being given direct WINLA. In the LEGS page, I did LSK2 to select WINLA, then LSK1 to have it be the first waypoint, the EXEC'd. Climb was at a smooth 1500 fpm. Reaching the first waypoint at cruise, I discovered the cruise speed was set for 255kt, which is too fast for the Q300's VNE of 242. I went to the cruise page and set it to 235, and EXEC'd the change. I also noticed that the SPUDS speed restriction was too high, so I changed that to 240/10000.
Passing LVZ on the SPUDS1, I could tell something was not right with the TOD. The indicator was hovering around ANMAR, as was the distance to the T/D listed in the DESC page (TODError3.PNG), even though the FMC-computed crossing at ETX was 14200, indicating I should be descending before that waypoint.
I set the MCP alt to 10000' when I guessed I was over the TOD between SLATT and ETX. The VNAV held at 1500 fpm on the descent, even though it was going to have me at 10000' well before SPUDS (TODError4.PNG). There was also no vertical profile (HI/LO or desired descent rate) given in the DESC page while in my descent.
I did not get a chance to see if it would give a descent profile for BOJID, as I was vectored off the STAR at SPUDS with a manual heading/altitude to reach, so I disengaged LNAV/VNAV and flew the vectors to final.
